HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto
Performance is delivered through a semi-automatic PCP platform that is engineered for rapid follow-up shots, consistent accuracy, and comfortable all-day use by every shooter.
Precision, speed, and practical field capability are combined in this Turkish-made air rifle so that target sessions, pest control, and small-game outings can be approached with confidence. Responsible ownership and local legal compliance are always expected before any air rifle is used.
Semi-Automatic PCP Action That Keeps You On Target
Follow-up shots are fired as quickly as the trigger is pressed once the first round is chambered. A pre-charged pneumatic system is employed so that cycling is handled automatically after each shot. Consequently, the sight picture can be held more steadily between rounds. Moreover, magazine changes remain fast because three detachable rotary magazines are supplied from the factory.
Additionally, a fully shrouded, precision-rifled, and choked barrel is fitted so that pellet flight remains consistent. Therefore, grouping potential is improved at typical airgun distances. Furthermore, a patented anti-knock system is integrated so that compressed air is not wasted if the rifle is bumped or set down firmly. As a result, more usable shots are preserved from each fill.
Meanwhile, a detachable 255 cc aluminum air cylinder is used and can be filled to 200 bar. In addition, a built-in pressure gauge is provided so that remaining air can be monitored at a glance. Likewise, a rotating dust cover protects the fill port, and a quick-fill nozzle plus discharge cap are included for convenient charging and safe emptying.
Calibers, Power, Magazines, and Practical Shot Count
Versatility is offered across three popular calibers so that different shooting goals can be matched.
- .177 / 4.5 mm: up to 310 m/s (1020 fps) and approximately 27 J / 20 ft-lbs is published; a 14-shot magazine is used.
- .22 / 5.5 mm: up to 288 m/s (950 fps) and approximately 39.8 J / 29 ft-lbs is published; a 12-shot magazine is used.
- .25 / 6.35 mm: up to 265 m/s (870 fps) and approximately 45 J / 33.5 ft-lbs is published; a 10-shot magazine is used.
Approximately 50 semi-automatic shots at optimal velocity are listed from a full 255 cc fill, provided pressure remains above the 100 bar minimum required for the semi-auto mechanism. Velocity and energy naturally vary with pellet weight, shape, temperature, and elevation, so real-world results should always be verified with a chronograph.
Stock, Handling, and Accessory Rails
An ambidextrous advanced-polymer stock with rubber butt pad is fitted so that both left- and right-handed shooters can be accommodated comfortably. Checkering is applied on the grip and forend so that control is improved in wet or gloved conditions. Overall length of 1068 mm (42 in) and barrel length of 500 mm (19.7 in) are specified, while average weight is listed at 3.85 kg (8.5 lb).
Three Picatinny accessory rails are placed beneath and on the sides of the forearm so that lights, lasers, or a bipod can be mounted. Fitted sling swivels are also present, and a sling is included. A black anodized aircraft-aluminum receiver carries a combination 11 mm / 22 mm dovetail so that a wide range of scopes and red dots can be installed after the fiber-optic sights are removed if desired.
Detachable Truglo fiber-optic sights are supplied as standard: a 0.9 mm green rear and a 1.5 mm red front. A manual safety, black metal trigger, and synthetic trigger guard complete the control layout.

Everyday Uses Where The Platform Shines
Plinking and informal target practice are made more engaging because magazine capacity and semi-automatic cycling reduce downtime. Pest control around property can be supported when legal power levels and local rules are observed. Small-game hunting at modest ranges is also within the published energy envelope of the larger calibers, provided ethical shot placement and regulations are respected. Training and skill-building sessions benefit from the repeatable trigger and stable stock so that new and experienced shooters alike can focus on fundamentals.
Quiet operation is assisted by the full barrel shroud, although hearing protection and safe backstops remain essential. Inclusive design choices—ambidextrous stock, checkered surfaces, and adjustable fiber-optic sights—help a wide range of shooters find a comfortable hold.
Care, Safety, and Legal Notes
Regular inspection of the cylinder, fill probe, and magazines is recommended. Only manufacturer-approved pellets should be used; slugs or non-skirted projectiles may fail to cycle reliably. The rifle should always be treated as if it is loaded, pointed in a safe direction, and stored unloaded with air pressure managed according to the manual. Local FAC, energy, and licensing rules must be followed; published figures describe the full-power FAC configuration and will differ in restricted markets.
When consistent semi-automatic PCP performance, generous magazine capacity, and a complete accessory package are required, the HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto is positioned as a practical, conversion-ready choice for outdoor enthusiasts who value speed without sacrificing everyday usability.
Calibres, FAC Ratings, Power Output, and Accessories for the HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto
Flexibility across three established pellet calibres is provided by the HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto so that recreational, pest-control, and field applications can be matched to local regulations and personal preference. Consequently, a single platform can serve different shooting goals without a complete change of rifle. Moreover, published FAC-level figures describe the unrestricted configuration; lower-energy versions are supplied in restricted markets, and legal compliance must always be verified before purchase or use.
Available Calibres and How Each Is Typically Applied
Three factory options are offered so that trajectory, energy transfer, and magazine capacity can be balanced.
- .177 / 4.5 mm is selected when flatter trajectory and higher shot count are preferred for target work and close-range pest control. A 14-shot rotary magazine is employed, and up to 310 m/s (1020 fps) with approximately 27 J / 20 ft-lbs is listed under FAC conditions.
- .22 / 5.5 mm is favoured when a practical blend of pellet mass, remaining energy, and magazine capacity is required for mixed use. A 12-shot magazine is fitted, and up to 288 m/s (950 fps) with approximately 39.8 J / 29 ft-lbs is published.
- .25 / 6.35 mm is chosen when greater down-range energy and larger pellet mass are wanted for small-game or heavier pest work at modest distances. A 10-shot magazine is used, and up to 265 m/s (870 fps) with approximately 45 J / 33.5 ft-lbs is specified.
Therefore, magazine capacity decreases as calibre increases, while energy generally rises. Furthermore, pellet choice still determines real-world velocity; lighter pellets produce higher speed figures, whereas heavier pellets retain more energy. As a result, chronograph testing with the intended ammunition is always recommended after the rifle is received.
FAC Power Levels, Shot Count, and Pressure Requirements
Unrestricted FAC performance is described in official tables so that buyers in licensed markets can compare output. Approximately 50 semi-automatic shots at optimal velocity are listed from a 255 cc cylinder filled to 200 bar, provided cylinder pressure remains above the 100 bar minimum needed for the semi-automatic mechanism to cycle. Below that threshold, the action may fail to function as a repeater.
Additionally, velocity and energy can vary by as much as 20 percent because of pellet weight, pellet shape, temperature, elevation, and barrel condition. Consequently, published maxima should be treated as reference values rather than guaranteed field results. Meanwhile, restricted-market rifles are typically limited to lower legal energy (often around 16–17 J in many European jurisdictions), so the same model name may appear with reduced power and, in some listings, single-shot rather than full semi-automatic behaviour.
In addition, no regulator is fitted on this platform. Therefore, velocity is expected to decline gradually as cylinder pressure falls, and the most consistent groups are usually obtained in the middle of the fill. Likewise, a spare filled cylinder can be carried so that the useful power band can be restored quickly during a longer session.
Factory Accessories and Practical Add-Ons
A complete starter kit is supplied so that the rifle can be used soon after unboxing. Inclusive design choices—ambidextrous stock, checkered surfaces, and removable fibre-optic sights—help a wide range of shooters begin comfortably.
Included with a typical HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto package:
- Hard polymer transport case for protected storage and travel
- Three detachable rotary magazines matched to the chosen calibre
- Sling plus fitted sling swivels for carry in the field
- Quick-fill nozzle and air-cylinder discharging cap
- Factory-installed detachable Truglo fibre-optic sights (0.9 mm green rear, 1.5 mm red front)
- Built-in cylinder pressure gauge and rotating fill-port dust cover
Frequently added accessories that complement the platform:
- Spare 255 cc aluminium cylinders so that extra air can be kept ready
- Combination 11 mm / 22 mm dovetail scopes or compact red-dot sights mounted on the receiver rail
- Picatinny-mounted bipod, compact light, or laser on the three forearm rails
- Quality PCP compressor or high-pressure pump rated for 200 bar fills
- Calibre-matched premium pellets and a portable chronograph for tuning
- Additional magazines for faster reloads during extended practice
Moreover, the full barrel shroud already reduces report, yet hearing protection and a safe backstop remain essential. Furthermore, only skirted pellets designed for this magazine system should be used; slugs or non-standard projectiles may fail to feed or cycle reliably.
Matching Calibre, Power, and Accessories to Your Use
Target and plinking sessions are well served by the .177 configuration because more shots per magazine and a flatter path are obtained. Mixed farm and garden pest work is often paired with .22 because energy and capacity remain balanced. Small-game hunting at ethical distances is more commonly associated with .25 when local law permits the published FAC energy. In every case, a suitable optic, a spare cylinder, and a reliable fill source turn the rifle from a capable platform into a complete working kit.
Responsible ownership requires that FAC status, energy limits, licensing, and storage rules in the buyer’s country be confirmed before the HATSAN Galatian 6 Auto is ordered or used. When those requirements are met, the combination of three calibres, documented FAC power, generous magazine supply, and a practical accessory package allows the rifle to be configured for many outdoor roles without unnecessary complexity.

Practical Use Scenarios in Everyday Outdoor Settings
Everyday shooting tasks are completed more smoothly when a semi-automatic PCP platform, a generous magazine supply, and a stable polymer stock are combined. Consequently, time spent on reloading is reduced and attention can remain on the target. Moreover, inclusive handling features allow both left- and right-handed participants to share the same session without awkward adjustments. Therefore, a single outing can serve recreation, skill building, and responsible pest management when local laws are observed.
Backyard and Informal Target Sessions After Work
Short practice periods are often squeezed into evenings or weekends. A filled cylinder and three loaded magazines are prepared in advance so that the first shot can be taken with little delay. Afterwards, follow-up shots are released as the trigger is pressed, and the sight picture is held more steadily because cycling is handled by the action rather than a manual bolt. Meanwhile, fibre-optic sights remain useful in fading light until an optic is fitted.
Additionally, groups at ten to twenty-five metres are tightened when a consistent pellet is chosen and the same hold is repeated. Furthermore, a safe backstop and a clear firing line are established before any round is chambered. As a result, neighbours are less likely to be disturbed, especially when the shrouded barrel is used and hearing protection is worn. In addition, a spare cylinder can be swapped if pressure drops toward the lower limit required for reliable semi-automatic function.
Checkering on the grip and forend is relied upon when hands are damp from evening dew. Likewise, the rubber butt pad is appreciated during longer strings so that shoulder fatigue is reduced. Inclusive language and patient coaching are used when a family member or friend is introduced to the sport, and the ambidextrous stock supports that shared learning without forcing a change of rifle.
Structured Range Practice and Skill Development
Formal range visits are organised so that fundamentals can be refined under controlled conditions. Zeroing of a compact scope or red-dot sight is completed on the combination dovetail rail after the open sights are removed if preferred. Subsequently, five- and ten-shot strings are fired from supported and unsupported positions so that consistency can be measured.
Moreover, magazine changes are rehearsed until they become automatic. Three magazines are kept loaded and staged so that a full string can be completed without leaving the firing point. Consequently, cadence and trigger control receive more attention than mechanical interruptions. Furthermore, chronograph readings are taken at the beginning and middle of a fill so that the useful velocity band is understood.
During these sessions, different pellet weights are compared within the same calibre. Lighter projectiles are tested when a flatter path is wanted for paper targets. Heavier projectiles are evaluated when remaining energy at twenty-five to forty metres is the priority. Therefore, a practical load is selected for later field use rather than guessed at home.
Inclusive coaching is applied when mixed-ability groups share a lane. Instructions are given in clear, respectful terms, and the rifle is passed only after it has been confirmed empty and pointed in a safe direction. As a result, newer participants gain confidence while experienced shooters refine hold and follow-through.
Property and Garden Pest Management
Responsible pest control around buildings, barns, and gardens is undertaken only where it is legal and ethical. A calibre that matches the size of the intended pest and the permitted energy level is chosen. Close-range work is often completed with the mid-size option because magazine capacity and energy remain balanced. Meanwhile, a compact light on a forearm rail is fitted for early-morning or dusk inspections.
Additionally, a bipod or a fence rest is used when a precise shot must be taken from a fixed position. Follow-up shots can be delivered quickly if a second opportunity appears, provided the first shot was safe and the background remains clear. Furthermore, a sling is employed so that the rifle can be carried hands-free while gates are opened or tools are moved.
Pressure is checked on the built-in gauge before the walk begins. A second filled cylinder is carried in a pouch when several buildings must be visited. Consequently, the useful power band is maintained and the action continues to cycle as intended. After the task is finished, the rifle is unloaded, the cylinder is capped, and the hard case is used for transport back to secure storage.
Inclusive practice means that every person on the property understands the plan, the safe directions, and the legal limits. No shot is taken toward dwellings, livestock, or public paths. Therefore, the work remains both effective and defensible.
Small-Game Outings at Ethical Distances
Field walks for small game are planned only when licensing, seasons, and energy rules allow it. A heavier calibre is frequently selected so that adequate energy is retained at the distances that will actually be used. Stalking is conducted slowly, and shots are taken only when a clear, stationary target and a safe backstop are confirmed.
Moreover, the three forearm rails accept a compact optic, a light, and a bipod so that the same rifle can be adapted to woodland edges, field margins, or sitting over a known run. Fibre-optic sights remain available if an optic is fogged or damaged. Likewise, the ambidextrous stock allows a left-handed companion to take a turn without a second firearm being carried.
Shot count is managed carefully. Approximately fifty useful semi-automatic shots are expected from a full fill under favourable conditions, yet the most consistent groups usually appear in the middle of the pressure curve. Therefore, a mid-fill start is preferred when the first animals are expected soon after leaving the vehicle. A spare cylinder is kept ready so that the session is not cut short.
After each successful retrieval, the magazine is topped up and the safety is applied while the ground is covered. Inclusive fieldcraft includes sharing packing, spotting, and recovery tasks so that every participant remains engaged and safe.
Travel Days, Club Events, and Shared Family Outings
Club competitions, charity shoots, and family days require a rifle that travels well and can be used by more than one person. The hard case is employed so that the cylinder, magazines, and sling remain together. Upon arrival, the fill is checked, magazines are loaded at the designated area, and a brief safety brief is given to everyone who will handle the rifle.crow magnum
Additionally, the polymer stock and moderate weight make the platform manageable for smaller-framed shooters when proper stance and support are taught. Checkering and the rubber pad help maintain control during longer relays. Furthermore, Picatinny space allows a shared optic to be fitted for those who prefer magnified aiming, while others continue with the fibre-optic set.
Meanwhile, three magazines reduce queue time at the firing line. Consequently, more participants receive practice rather than waiting for a single magazine to be refilled. After the event, the cylinder is discharged or stored according to club rules, and the rifle is locked in the case for the journey home.hatsan pcp
Inclusive events benefit when language remains welcoming and instructions are demonstrated rather than assumed. New shooters are paired with experienced mentors, and every handover includes a visual and physical check that the action is clear.
Seasonal and Weather Considerations
Cool mornings and damp evenings change both shooter comfort and air behaviour. Gloves are worn without losing purchase because the grip surfaces remain textured. A light is added when legal shooting hours begin before sunrise or continue after sunset. Condensation on optics is wiped before the first shot so that the zero is not lost.bullmaster
High summer heat can raise cylinder pressure slightly after a fill; therefore, a short wait and a gauge check are completed before the first magazine is fired. Winter sessions may require a slightly higher starting pressure so that the semi-automatic mechanism continues to cycle as temperature drops. In every season, hearing protection and eye protection are treated as non-negotiable.
Spare magazines and a small pellet tin are kept in a pocket so that a change of load can be made if wind increases. A chronograph reading taken on site confirms that the chosen pellet still sits inside the intended velocity window.
Building Confidence Across Skill Levels
Beginners are introduced with an empty rifle, a clear explanation of the safety, and dry practice of the trigger and magazine change. Only after those steps are comfortable is a live magazine introduced at short range. Intermediate shooters move to unsupported positions and timed strings. Advanced users refine hold-over and wind calls using the same platform so that equipment familiarity is retained.
Inclusive coaching avoids jargon where a plain description will do. Mistakes are corrected calmly, and success is acknowledged so that the session remains encouraging. The same rifle can therefore serve a household or a club without each person needing a separate model.
End-of-Day Routine That Preserves Reliability
After the last shot, the magazine is removed, the action is confirmed empty, and remaining air is managed according to the manufacturer’s guidance. Rails and the fill port are wiped. The hard case is used for storage or transport. A brief note of pellet type, fill pressure, and group size is kept so that the next outing starts from known data rather than guesswork.bee bee gun rifle.hatzan blitz.air pellet gun
When these practical patterns are followed—preparation, legal and ethical use, inclusive handling, and careful storage—the semi-automatic PCP platform supports recreation, training, and responsible field work across a wide range of outdoor settings. Consistent habits turn a capable air rifle into a dependable partner for many seasons of safe shooting.hatsan usa.range of air rifle
Frequently Asked Questions About Semi-Automatic PCP Use, Power, and Setup
Clear answers are provided so that first-time buyers and experienced shooters can plan a safe, legal, and enjoyable setup. Consequently, surprises after delivery are reduced. Moreover, inclusive wording is used so that every reader—regardless of experience or dominant hand—can follow the same guidance. Local laws always take priority over published figures.
Power, Calibres, and Legal Limits
How is energy output described for this type of rifle?
Unrestricted FAC figures are published for three pellet sizes so that licensed markets can be compared. Approximately 27 J is listed for the smallest calibre, about 39.8 J for the middle option, and about 45 J for the largest. Restricted markets receive lower-energy versions, often near 16–17 J. Therefore, the exact specification on the box must be checked against national and regional rules before an order is placed.
Which calibre is usually chosen for target work?
A flatter trajectory and a 14-shot magazine are typically preferred for paper and informal plinking. Consequently, the smallest official option is frequently selected when distance estimation is still being learned. Heavier pellets in the same bore can still be tested if wind drift becomes an issue.
Which calibre is favoured for mixed pest and small-game use?
A balance of magazine capacity and remaining energy is sought. As a result, the middle calibre with a 12-shot magazine is often adopted where law permits the published FAC level. Ethical distances and a safe backstop remain mandatory.
Is the largest calibre always “more powerful in the field”?
Greater published energy is associated with the largest option and a 10-shot magazine. However, pellet weight, range, and shot placement decide real results. Moreover, velocity falls as cylinder pressure declines because no regulator is fitted. Chronograph checks on the chosen pellet are therefore recommended.
Can the same rifle be used in a 12 ft-lb or similar limited market?
Factory-restricted versions exist in many countries. Semi-automatic function may also be limited when energy is capped. Local dealers should confirm the exact configuration that can be shipped legally.
Filling, Shot Count, and Consistency
How many useful shots are expected from one fill?
Approximately fifty semi-automatic shots at optimal velocity are listed from a 255 cc cylinder filled to 200 bar, provided pressure stays above the 100 bar minimum required for cycling. Consistency is usually best in the middle of the fill. Consequently, a mid-pressure start is preferred when tight groups matter most.
What happens if pressure drops too low?
The semi-automatic mechanism may stop cycling reliably. A gauge reading is taken before a session begins, and a spare cylinder is carried when a long day is planned. Afterwards, the empty cylinder can be exchanged in minutes.
Is a regulator included?
No regulator is fitted. Velocity is therefore expected to decline gradually. A practical load and a known fill window are established with a chronograph rather than assumed from a catalogue number.
Which fill equipment is required?
A pump or compressor rated for 200 bar, the supplied quick-fill nozzle, and a discharge cap are used. The rotating dust cover is kept closed when the rifle is stored so that debris is kept out of the port.
Magazines, Feeding, and Ammunition
How many magazines are supplied?
Three rotary magazines matched to the ordered calibre are included. Extra magazines can be added later so that reloads at the firing line stay short.
